Well, I am officially done at work for the Christmas break. Dominic and Marie slept in as I will drive them to school this morning instead of riding the bus. Later this morning, I am going to a meeting in Polson regarding getting a non-motorized bridge over the Jocko River. I am going with Mary Stranahan and taking some petitions that people have been passing around getting signed. We are meeting with the Environmental Preservation Department for the Tribes. It should be interesting. I am hoping we have a non-motorized path before summer comes - by spring! It is a real hazard for anyone wanting to ride a bike or walk to town from this side of the bridge. This bridge is part of multi-million dollar project that was constructed just in the last few years - very disappointing as it turned out to make our driving more hazardous. Hopefully the higher levels will help us get some safer construction going to enhance what has been done.
Dominic is participating in a Secret Santa gift exchange. He has his friend Josh's name. He gives him tons of candy each day and brings home the same from his Secret Santa. He is playing with the idea of being a manager for the junior high girls basketball team. That starts after our break on January 5th. I told him he needs to consider it before volunteering as he can't quit - as he is enjoying the fact that he can just come home after school. Especially since it is so cold, he has really enjoyed coming home. When we got home last night he had the house all lit up and was dribbling my old volleyball around. He loved having the house to himself once again.
Marie has practice after school for wrestling. She also has matches this week - one on Thursday night in Superior which is about an hour and a half away and then she goes to Great Falls on Friday and Saturday. She has been really trying to lose weight and has lost 10 pounds since starting wrestling. She is working toward another 4 pounds so that she can wrestle in a lower weight category. She thinks she will have a better chance against people in that weight range. She did score a point for the team at the last meet - that was a first for her.
It is about time to take them to school. I better get moving. Just trying out our blog here. I guess you have to create a Google account. Sorry - I thought you could just get started.
Stay warm - it is at least 5 below this morning. Better go!
